Picasso-Das Jahr der Wende 1905

Picasso ist schon unter allen Gesichtspunkten erforscht und ausgestellt worden, geordnet nach Schaffensphasen, Motiven und den Einflüssen seiner Vorbilder, Zeitgenossen und Geliebten. Die Schau, die jetzt in der Kunsthalle Bielefeld startet konzentriert sich auf ein Jahr in seinem Leben, aber auf ein für ihn entscheidendes: 1905.Von den melancholischen Bildern der "Blauen Periode" schwenkt er um auf die poetisch zarten der "Rosa Periode", entdeckt aber auch die archaischen Formen, die sein Werk in eine völlig neue Richtung führen werden. Diese Entwicklung gipfelt dann 1907 in seinem Meisterwerk "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon" und in der Begründung des Kubismus, mit dem die eigentliche moderne Kunst des 20. Jahrhunderts beginnt. 1905 scheint da wie die Ruhe vor dem Sturm, ist aber tatsächlich das Jahr, in dem alles seinen Anfang nahm. Die Ausstellung ist bis zum 15. Januar 2012 zu sehen. ELROY- "Flashin' Lights"

Damien Vignaux, besser bekannt unter seinem Künstlernamen Elroy, ist 25 Jahre alt und stammt ursprünglich aus Toulouse, Frankreich. Momentan lebt und arbeitet er jedoch in Berlin. Vignaux wurde vor allem durch seine Zeichnungen bekannt, die er als einen Mix aus Hip Hop und Glamour beschreibt. Als freischaffender Art Director beschäftigt er sich neben dem Zeichnen auch mit Grafikdesign, Malerei, DJing und der Fotografie. In seiner aktuellen Fotoserie erschafft Vignaux mithilfe von Licht und Schatten ein Reihe ästhetischer und sinnlicher Aktfotografien.
Die Aktfotografien sind atemberaubend schön. Er versteht es, die Schönheit der Frau mit gewissen Lichteffekten zu unterstreichen.

Gerry Judah’s paintings are a direct response to conflict across the globe, and the impact of that violence, whether it is the consequence of war or natural disaster. At the same time, he is fascinated by changing urban landscape, and his paintings explore the dynamic of construction and destruction.

Artistically, Gerry creates a perfectly balanced, lyrical experience contrary to the brutal subject matter. There are subtle light and shadows interacting on his canvases, modulating in tandem with the materials he chooses. At a first glance, his work feels like a gestural expression, but in actuality these paintings are very well planned and crafted out with incredible patience.

"This question is slightly puzzling for me because I’m naturally shy and, when I try to say who I am, I always feel to be expressing myself in an inconsiderate way. To cut it short, I used to be an ad man and a fashion editor; I started taking photographs a little less than two years even if, because of my past jobs, I’ve always been involved with photography.
A couple of months ago, with some friends, I’ve started a photography magazine (http://disturber.net) devoted to young, talented photographers. It’s a very exciting project for me because it allows me to be close to whatever is happening in photography’s world. There are many young people, actual outsiders, that deserve attention and encouragement. In general, I don’t want to take myself too seriously, I like to think of me as someone who photographs to enjoy himself, but at the same time there are a few themes important to me, which I try to incorporate in my pictures."
